Dress code for the day
A Hickory Golf Day is the perfect opportunity to have fun mixing & matching your outfit for the day. Dressing in 1920's / 1930's inspired clothing is great fun (but not obligatory) but like at a fancy dress party, those who do enter into the spirit of the day tend to have much more fun than those who don't!
There is no need to buy expensive Plus Fours for the day, when a pair of old football socks tucked into ordinary trousers will still do the trick! To add the finishing touches, look in the back of your wardrobe for an old Pringle diamond jumper and a flat cap to top things off. |
What to bring along:
Tee pegs, ball marker, pitchfork and pencil.
What to leave at home:
Your golf clubs, golf bag, golf balls and most importantly your baseball cap and GPS rangefinder / viewing device!!!
What happens if I break a club?
Firstly don't panic, we do not charge for broken clubs, just borrow one from one of your playing partners. If you think you might hit a tree on your follow through we respectfully ask you to chip out sideways, rather that risking damage to our clubs that are all 90 / 100 years old.
The Legal Bit!
All golfers participate in one of our Hickory Golf Days at their own risk (as in any other normal golf competition). It is the golfer's own responsibility to ensure that they have their own specialist golfer's insurance to cover any accidental damage caused to themselves, or others, whilst on the golf course (as in any other normal golf competition).
Our chosen charity
During the day there will be an opportunity to buy raffle tickets in aid of Guide Dogs UK. We have arranged for a puppy trainer and puppy to be in attendance, who will be very keen to tell you all about how money raised on the day will be spent.
